Description
This is a really nice gemstone inlaid bear face pin/pendant by Zuni artist B. Leekity. The cheeks and forehead and ears are made of onyx and has etching to give some texture that looks like hair. The nose is a honey gold chalcedony that shimmers in the light. Eyes and tongue appear to be coral and teeth appear to be shell or mother of pearl.
The pendant does not have a quality stamp and is of unknown silver content. It does have a signature of B. Leekity/ZUNI NM.
The pendant is 1.25″ and weighs 8.3 grams.
This pendant is in very good estate condition and maintains its original patina.
This came from the estate of a collector who worked for several years as a physician in a hospital for Native Americans many years ago.
