Description
This is a lovely memorial brooch with an elaborate frame and black enamel with the word “Memory” in gold. The center has human hair curls under a glass frame. The back is inscribed with “Patience Jones, died Oct 25th, 1851, Aged 35 years”.
The mounting tests 19k, but does not have a quality mark consistent with its age. Circa 1850’s.
Measures 2 by 1.5 inches and weighs 22.4 grams.
Excellent estate condition.
