This fantastic pin features a poodle with sapphire eyes standing on an Akoya pearl ball. The 1960’s pendant is from Setay Gallery in Beverly Hills.
This pin is stamped 14k SETAY and weighs 9.5 grams. It is 1.6″ tall and .75″ wide. The Akoya pearl is 9.5 mm.
Excellent estate condition.
Virginia Yates owned Setay Gallery of Beverly Hills in the 1960’s. Originally from Virginia, she came to California to study with the Pasadena Playhouse and after graduation worked in Paramount Studios’ publicity department. She turned to her true passions of art, sculpture and gemstones when work became scare and found fulfillment in her artistic calling. Her sculptures are noted for mixing gold, gemstones and often incorporate natural rock or a mineral base.
